How Does It Work?

To answer that question, we must first answer two vital questions. What is Hunger? And, what is Thirst?

Hunger is a feeling experienced when one has a desire to eat. The often unpleasant feeling originates in the hypothalamus gland and is released through receptors in the liver. Although an average nourished individual can survive weeks without food intake, the sensation of hunger typically begins after a few of hours after eating and is generally considered uncomfortable. The fluctuation of leptin and ghrelin hormone levels result in the motivation of an organism to consume food. When an organism eats, adipocytes trigger the release of leptin into the body. Increasing levels of leptin results in a reduction of one's motivation to eat. After hours of non-consumption, leptin levels drop significantly. These low levels of leptin cause the release of a secondary hormone, ghrelin, which in turn re-initiates the feeling of hunger.

Thirst is the craving for liquids, resulting in the basic instinct of humans and animals to drink. It is an essential mechanism involving fluid balance in the body. There are receptors and other systems in the body that detect a decreased volume or an increased osmolite concentration. These systems send signals to the central nervous system, where central processing succeeds. Some sources distinguish "extra cellular thirst" from "intracellular thirst", where extra cellular thirst is generated by a decreased volume and intracellular thirst is generated by increased osmolite concentration. Nevertheless, the craving itself is generated from the central processing in the brain.

Now that we have established why we feel hunger and thirst, we can now better understand how the Ramadan Fasting Tablet works. Both hunger and thirst are attributed to electro-chemical reactions in the brain that cause us to feel these sensations. The Ramadan Fasting Tablets were designed in a very specific way. The natural food and herb extracts in the tablet, when combined in our proprietary blend, react with the body the way leptin and other bodily chemicals work thus putting the mind at ease by preventing it from thinking that the body is starving or thirsty. This equates to a much more tolerable fasting experience especially during the summer when the days are long and hot. As an added benefit, the Ramadan Fasting Tablets contain valuable vitamins which help sustain our bodies during the fast.
